“Samuel and Saul's relationship"

1 Samuel 15:10-30,35

Continuous victories stop the devils movement always!

Saul built an altar and a few months later a monument to himself.

(10-14)

What does that say to you?

“It grieved Samuel and he cried out to the Lord all night!”

This chapter serves as a textbook study of “Animus.”

What is Animus?

  1. Animus

    • A deep seated feeling of hatred, hostility, and prejudice to someone or something.

    • At the end of Saul's reign, an irreversible break had occurred between the two!

    • (15-23)

  2. The severity of the word of God changes everything!

    • Obedience = Faithfulness = Consistency

    • Samuels purpose is unyielding obedience to God!

    • Ego = “Edging God Out”

  3. Saul and the witches of Endor

    • (24-30) and Chapter 28 in 1 Samuel

  • We have fallen far from where we started!

  • God means nothing to Saul accept getting what he wants!

  • Saul is asking the wrong person from the wrong place for guidance!

  • Samuel the prophet on many occassions doesn’t bring a fresh word. He draws attention to words already given by God!

SO:

Don’t give up - Keep standing

Get up on the inside

Boldly pursue all that matters

Don't Quit - Ever

- Pastor Warren
