Are you desperately looking for a change in your career? No matter what your circumstances are, God wants you to be happy at your job. Your work is designed to bring you fulfillment and joy.

Happiness is feeling good about yourself. It is based on your relationships and achievements.

Recently, I read some statistics that indicated seven out of ten people despise what they are doing, or the company for which they work, or the career that they have settled into.

Most people live their lifetimes without ever discovering their own personal uniqueness, gifts or talents that God placed within them. They never know what God has assigned them to accomplish in life.

Wisdom Key 1

You can predict a person’s future by his awareness of his assignment.

People seek an escape from misery at work through costly vacations, hostility toward their family, alcohol, drug abuse, or other destructive diversions.

Wisdom Key 2

Your significance is not your similarity to others, but rather in your point of difference from one another.

  1. Accept work as God’s gift, not punishment.

First, you must realize that your work is important. In fact, it is a gift from God.

  • “To rejoice in his favor, this is the gift of God.” Ecclesiastes 5:19

  • “The Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods.. And… bless all the work of thine hand.” Deuteronomy 28:11-12

Wisdom Key 3

Your provisions are wherever you have been assigned.

If you are investing forty miserable hours each week on a job you do not like, two hours of church on Sunday morning will not necessarily cure it.

Wisdom Key 4

Never stay where God has not assigned you.

  1. Recognize God as your true employer.

  2. You must find where God wants you, what He wants you to be doing, and move as quickly as possible in that direction.

  3. Paul wrote, “With good wiki, doing service as to the Lord and not to men.” Ephesians 6:7

Discerning your career:

  1. Pursue work compatible with your abilities and interests.

  2. Your life calling is usually whatever creates the highest level of joy within you.

Wisdom Key 5

What you love is a clue to something you contain.

  1. God wants to prosper you on your job. Your work is one of God’s most essential tools to bless you.

  2. Work is a tool for achieving, producing, and blessing others.

  3. Your work does not have to be easy to be enjoyable.

Wisdom Key 6

GO where you are celebrated instead of where you are tolerated.

  1. God has deposited within you seeds of all the gifts necessary for your life’s work.

Wisdom Key 7

Your assignment will require seasons of preparation.

  1. You must discern your gifts and the calling God has placed upon your life. Then pursue work accordingly.

Wisdom Key 8

Your assignment may require you to walk away from something that is comfortable.

  1.  Ask Him for wisdom about your career and talents.

Four Forces That Guarantee Career Success

  1. The force of appearance.

“But the Lord said….. man looketh on the outward appearance…...”              1 Samuel 16:7

Wisdom Key 9

People see what you are before they hear what you are.

  1. The force of aptitude.

“A man’s gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men.” Proverbs 18:16

Wisdom Key 10

Your worth to your boss is determined by the problems you solve for him.

  1. The force of attitude.

“Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; not with eyeservice, as men pleasers, but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of GOd from the heart.” Ephesians 6:5-6

Wisdom Key 11

You will only be remembered for two things: the problems you solve for him.

Wisdom Key 12

God will never advance you beyond your last act of disobedience.

Wisdom Key 13

Someone is always observing you who is capable of greatly blessing you.

Wisdom Key 14

Your assignment is to solve an existing problem in someone’s life

  1. The force of atmosphere.

Everything you do creates a climate. Your actions enable you to access a certain state of mind - good or bad!

“Whatsoever things are true… honest… pure… lovely… of good report; if there be any virtue, and praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

You are the seed that gives birth to the atmosphere surrounding yourself.

Wisdom Key 15

God will never promote you until you become overqualified for your present assignment.

Wisdom Key 16

Your daily agenda should be built around your assignment.

Crisis reveals. Crisis energizes. Crisis stimulates. Crisis makes you use your faith.

Crisis means you have got to change WHAT YOU ARE DOING, WHAT YOU ARE SAYING, WHAT YOU ARE LISTENING TO, WHAT YOU KNOW.

ALLOW GOD TO START BRINGING YOU THROUGH THIS TIME OF CRISIS IN YOUR CAREER.
